About the show-Rapunzel The Pantomime – A family film to enjoy at home
The story of Rapunzel who was locked in a tower before being rescued by her pal Jammy, is told in fun panto style. Full of songs and slapstick, local references and colourful characters – a unique family pantomime film for all ages.
Rapunzel The Pantomime – a film for all the family is produced by The Brunton, written and directed by John Binnie, designed by Robin Mitchell with Musical Direction & Original Music by Tommie Travers and filmed by D Fie Foe.
All you need to do is – let the school know if you are interested in watching this Pantomime and how many people would be accessing the show via the link. There is no cost attached but Cutting Edge Theatre will be doing a donation on your behalf and the Brunton Theatre will be able to put on their funding report just how many people they reached with their production. With all the uncertainties in the performing arts world right now, we are delighted to support this!
Please let your register teacher know if you are interested (and how many will be watching) by Thursday 3rd December.
Pilrig Park Special Secondary School is situated in North Edinburgh. The campus is located within lovely grounds and bounded on two sides by the Park itself.
It is important to emphasise that Pilrig Park School follows a secondary model. This allows pupils to experience a variety of subjects that create a broad, challenging and relevant curriculum and this is offered to 76 pupils from 12 – 18 years of age. Pilrig Park School links with other mainstream and special schools, Edinburgh College and a variety of Partners, to access areas of the curriculum. This partnership working is a key strength of the school which leads to further skills development and increased independence for our pupils. The school meets the additional support needs of young people with moderate to complex needs.
Admission to the school is via a professional assessment group process. Liaison and support is shared with many agencies including Psychological Services, Health, Social Work, Careers, Employers and Further Education Colleges. We have both active Parent and Pupil Councils. Many partnerships have been formed which have enhanced the quality of support for learners and enriched learners’ experiences leading to a high quality of education.
The rationale behind all that we do is to prepare young people for life beyond school, encouraging resilience, independence, self-confidence, realistic attitudes to Further Education, work and leisure. Young people are encouraged to be active in their learning across the four contexts.
Well done to our Parent Group who have been successful in gaining charity status for the school. We are now officially Friends of Pilrig Park School
