![]() ![]() Pupils will explore the topics of planning for choices and changes to aid transition into their Senior Phase. They will cover topics such as identifying personal skills, qualities and strengths to help with self evaluation and planning for their future steps. Pupils will also look at the world of work, further education/training and what services could help support them. Basic form filling, typing skills, letter writing, presentation skills and online research skills will be covered to support literacy.
BGE is planned through the Es and Os at Early, First, Second and some experiences at Third Level of Curriculum for Excellence.
Literacy, Numeracy and Health and Wellbeing embedded. Senior Phase: Pupils in S4 and S5 will follow the Moving On transition in Action Programme at either SCQF levels 2, 3 or 4. All levels are SQA accredited with 10 sections to be completed. They cover topics such as self evaluation, planning for the future, money and finance, responsibilities and work experience. All pupils before they leave school will undertake at least one work experience either supported or unsupported. We have very close working relationships with Real Jobs and ENABLE to support our young people. Final year pupils if appropriate will have a college link at Edinburgh College throughout the year which helps to improve confidence and to aid in a positive, post school, path way. All pupils will be seen by our Careers Advisor from Skills Development Scotland to help plan their next steps. Pupils have a choice to add Work Force Learning classes to their timetable and have the option of Hairdressing, Painting & Decorating, Gardening and Catering.
